Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight

Mark 10:46-52(NIV)
46 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

Kapansanan di hadlang, kung si Hesus ang katuwang!

These pictures were taken at the gathering of the disabled at "Kapansanan di hadlang kung si Hesus ang katuwang!".
People with disabilities and their families gather to have a day of fun and opportunity to make their presence known within their community.

Government officials were invited to take part. Councilor Dr. Reynaldo "Rey" Monroy, lend his expertise in conducting dental clinic within those who attended.

Rev. Raul Ternida, Senior Pastor of Jesus the Shepherd Community Church gave an inspiring message calling on every disabled to stand even in the midst of severe discrimination. He even thanked their families in wholeheartedly supporting the endeavors of the disabled.

Fun was also part of the event since they were allowed to play games which normal people plays. They showcased their talents with the special number presented by SPED students from Kapitbahayan Elementary School.

A special gift-giving transpired, when the disabled handed gifts to government officials present. They cant belive that instead of giving they were the ones who received from those disabled brethren.

All in all the activity was packed thus making our brethren enjoy every moment of it. Everyone also enjoyed the snack provided with the event.

Hopefully, we can conduct this event in different places thus making our disabled acknowledged. Giving them the attention they so deserved.
